August

I so cannot believe that today is the last day of August. Where did summer go...?

I spent this last month slowing down before the busyness of Fall sets in. I woke up extra early to enjoy my mornings before work; I got to visit with family on multiple occasions; I took care of my body by drinking a ton of water, going to bed early, and splurging on a full body massage.

The above photo was taken on an evening walk around the neighborhood with J. We've decided that my neighborhood is full of so many gorgeous blooms! For that I count myself incredibly lucky.

My brother is back in town for his last semester of college! The night he returned to Fredericksburg, we celebrated by eating massive cheeseburgers on Vivify's rooftop bar. His friend, Jake, came along with his super fancy new video camera & snapped this photo of us.

^Views from my living room on one rainy weekday morning. After working three straight weeks of overtime, I was excited to have this morning off. I woke up early, watched news & sipped on coffee with the good creamer, and then cleaned all the floors and windowsills in my apartment. Not exactly what one might call enjoyable, but honestly, it felt really good to get that done.

If you're wanting to know what a "dress-like-Lauren" starter kit would look like, this was pretty much it for August: button up jean skirt with a tucked in top + gold, minimal accessories + top knot.

Found my new favorite place in Fred, guys. This is the waiting area for Skin + Touch Therapy Spa. Not only is it freaking gorgeous, but its one of the best massages I've ever had. They also have a huge variety of beauty products, candles, and cards. It was honestly a one-stop-shop for gifts. I ended up purchasing a Grapefruit + Vanilla Soy candle after my massage-- I couldn't help myself!

I finally, finally got around to hanging this poster that I purchased in Madrid-- it's of the neighborhood where I stayed! I miss that little room in Madrid so incredibly much. Ready to go back, pronto.
