this week.

hello there! how has your week been? I kind of cheated mine just a little... As I mentioned in my last post, I spent the last couple of days in Asheville NC with my dad. It was so great to get out of the house for a little bit. And what a neat little town! And is it weird that I just really love hotel beds? Maybe its the six pillows. Someone finally understands me.
We left pretty early that morning... I actually had to get up at 6am. Can you believe it? It wasn't too bad though, because I got to ride in the man van with my dad for a whole five hours. And honestly, I've never minded the traveling part of a trip; I actually sort of look forward to it. I mean seriously though: you're not expected to do anything but daydream.
Our hotel was wonderful. While dad was out and about doing businessy things, I treated myself to a quite little lunch in the lobby. I had the best soup and salad I think I've ever tasted, and I got to read my new book. Oh, and then I spilled coffee creamer all over the table/floor/myself as I was leaving but we don't really need to talk about that.
That new book I was reading? Girls In White Dresses by Jennifer Close. I had been seeing it on this list and this list, so I asked for it for Christmas to see what all of this hoopla was about. I'm 176 pages in, and I have to say that its been a fun read so far! It follows the lives of about six or seven young women as they try to make a life for themselves after college graduation. Very relatable. And that gold, glitter notebook in the background is my new planner. I know.
Both nights my dad and I had the most wonderful dinners, courtesy of his job. My inner blogger had a hard time resisting the urge to take a picture of everything. I have to say though that my favorite part may or may not have been the dessert. Surprise. The first night consisted of a late-night reese cup run to the hotel lobby (because these things are just necessary sometimes) and the second night brought on the most hugest piece of chocolate cake love on the entire east coast. And you guys remember my issue with cake? That's saying something.

p.s. I hope you guys are well & healthy! (knock on wood...) Apparently the flu virus has been a little meaner this season. I've been washing my hands like every 15 minutes, no joke. Definitely getting my flu shot before heading back to school~
P.P.S. Speaking of school, I leave home on Sunday. Break flew.
