5 Minute Mornings

Hello all- hoping everyone had a lovely weekend. (Mine was full of girls nights and food, but more on that later.) Its about that time of the week again where I get to say happy Monday, readers! Welcome back to the blogosphere. :) To kick off the new week, I want to talk about  something that I feel is rather appropriate for today:: those quick 5 minute mornings. You know the ones I'm talking about... where you literally have five whole increments of 60 seconds to look presentable and prepared. As I've gotten older these mornings have certainly occurred less and less frequently, but I honestly feel like they're a tad unavoidable when you aren't a morning person.

So instead of blaming your appearance on "not hearing your alarm clock" or "the weather," accept that you just don't do mornings and check out my 5 minute morning essentials below::

Untitled #92

one. Pearls, pearls, pearls. Its actually a little boring that I wear them as often as I do, but they're my go-to's-- I can't help it. If you don't have time to think about the perfect pair of dangly earrings to match your thrown-together outfit, reach for a pair of basic studs that you know will go with anything.

two. A wallet is essential for obvious reasons, but I never leave my room without my vera bradley wristlet. It holds the ID & money, room key, gum, phone-- the works. If you're low on time, just grab the wristlet and go.

three. There are some mornings where make-up is just out of the question. For that, I love Clinique's chubby stick. Its great for smearing a little on as you're walking out of the door. It moisturizes like chapstick (great for these cold winter months) but adds a healthy little pop of color to your smile. I'm simply loving the chunky cherry color.

four. A little spritz of perfume is sometimes all it takes to feel refreshed and ready. I use Coach's Poppy fragrance every morning and I love it. If I don't have time to do much of anything, I know that I'll still be able to run through a little cloud of smell-goodness. :) (and finding 'your scent' is kind of fun, too!)

five. I was given a Fossil watch for Christmas & wear it pretty much everyday. It goes with everything, and can make any outfit look that much more sophisticated. Its super easy to grab on your way out, and link watches can be put on in like 5 seconds flat. Watches are investments, but they're so worth it.
